Rabbel Magazine
Inspired by her daughter Tully and her own journey as a fiercly independent creative soul, Rabbel Magazine was founded in 2017 by Photographer & Experience Designer, Julie Comfort.
When I was navigating the awakard adolescent years in the early 90’s, the magazines marketed to my age group were Seventeen, Cosmo Girl, Tiger Beat and the like. Designed to prey on our insecurities, they offered nothing to nurture my heart, mind, or creative spirit. Which is why I am more than thrilled to support the content and mission of Rabbel Magazine. If you have a young girl in your life, or a friend that does, Rabbel is the antidote to the damaging messages our youth absorbs. But you don’t have to take my word for it- check out the amazing community Rabbel is building HERE.
I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Rabbel for their premier issue. To date it has been one of my favorite interviews because I couldn’t stop thinking about how different I would have felt as a pre-teen if I was reading about women artists instead of how to obtain the right look to get my crush’s attention. And even cooler, I was able to continue working with Rabbel by contributing artwork for the design of the cover and inside the issue. It was an honor to know that my art would travel in backpacks of young girls around the world.
You can read my interview and view my art from Issue 2 below, but what would be even better is seeeing it in print by supporting the great mission of Rabbel HERE.
